If you have visited my blog lately, you probably know about that huge promotion that my novel, Forged by Greed was participating in on December 21st. There were 99 authors, offering their ebooks at 99 cents for just that one day. My friend and fellow YA author, Jillian Dodd masterminded and led this amazing event.

Toward the end of the day, ten of us were in the top 100 in the Kindle store. Amazon had assisted in the 24-hour price drop and also promoted our group through the Kindle Daily Deal. Rankings for most of our books went super high. Forged by Greed was listed in the Top 100 in several categories, ending the day with the overall Kindle store ranking of #997! Many of us sold hundreds of books, reached new readers, and made their novels permanently visible on Amazon website.

Jillian’s marketing skills and expertise are undeniable. But let’s not forget that she also is a talented writer. In 2011 Jillian has published her first book, That Boy, quickly followed by the sequel, That Wedding. Both books were (and still are) very popular, reaching thousands of happy readers. This year Jillian has released a brand new series, The Keatyn Chronicles. Readers have gone wild for Keatyn and her complicated life, never mind her even more complex love life. Keatyn may look as if she has it all in life, but she is actually far from happy. Keatyn embarks on life’s journey to understand herself, her sexuality, to figure out where she fits in, and how she deals with being separated from all she holds dear.

This short synopsis of book one, Stalk Me, provides a great summary:

Gossip Girl meets Hollywood in this steamy new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd. Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most-coveted lunch table. She’s just not sure she wants it anymore. Because, really, things aren’t all that perfect. Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam. Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to. It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect. And, deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends. To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker. A hot, older man flirts with her and tells her they should make a movie together. And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide. So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony. But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen. There’s plenty more to come and I cannot wait.

Book two of The Keatyn Chronicles, Kiss Me was published shortly after the book one. Here’s the blurb:

I’ve always written scripts for my perfect life. But no way could I have ever scripted this. My life is so far from perfect, it’s not even funny. All because of a stalker. I’m at a boarding school, where I have to lie about who I am. I can’t see my family. I’m tutoring a hottie god that tortures me with his smile. The most popular girl already hates me. But there’s this boy. This hot, sweet, sexy boy. So I’m going to stop trying to script my life and just live it. Because who knows how long I have left.

    Hi Angela! How are you?

What a wonderful community of giving authors we belong to. It’s so inspiring for new author such as myself to see how everyone supports one another. One of the best examples is Jullian Dodd. So happy that you ceased the opportunity to participate in that big event. I understand a lot of work went into it and it proved successful. Congratulations! :)
